Sugary, gooey marshmallow Peeps® have been an Easter basket staple for decades.

But these little pastel chicks and bunnies have become more than a treat, as general creative types find their cuteness and bright colors fit perfectly in witty art installations. Peeps have been given roles on the White House front lawn, in re-creations of children’s books, historical settings and other, um, unusual situations.

Many have been inspired by a contest run by the Washington Post, and now the Milwaukee-area Patches bring you their first official Peeps Challenge! Here is how the contest works:

  • Upload to this article a photo or video of Peeps being entertaining. Not allowed are copyrighted material, or inappropriate or vulgar material.
  • Deadline for entry is 11 p.m. on Easter Sunday, April 8.
  • Patch editors will select the winners on the basis of creativity, local flair and presentation. Complete official rules are attached to this article.

Peeps will present three gift baskets worth $25 each to three winners.  So get started creating, and try not to eat the exhibit!

Matthew 28: 5-6
"The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay."

@Jim - that is awesome! Truly ... Caledonia editor Denise Lockwood is working on a "We the Peepl" display to honor this historic election year ... I cannot wait to see her results!
