I actually think the Giants have a shot at this. They came really close to beating the Pack earlier this year and if not for that bad call in the end zone on Ballard, they would have won. My guess is that Aaron Rodgers shows up to play though and the Giants offense can't quite outshoot him. Packers 35, Giants 28.

I'm not eligible either, but I am keenly interested in the game. The Giants seem to be filling the role of last year's Packers, a lower seed getting hot late. But last year the No. 1 seed in the NFC was a paper tiger, the Falcons. It's very hard to see Green Bay losing this game at home, though it will be a battle. Green Bay 38, Giants 30.

I know the Jets, Cowboys and Falcons aren't the Packers, but it should be noted that the Giants have given up 14 or fewer points in each of the last three weeks. Their front four is making a huge impact

These Packers aren't unlike the '07 Patriots. I'd be surprised if they got to 30. Those Pats didn't even get to 15.

@George Fanno: As a Packers fan, I'm terrified of a low-scoring game. Green Bay will win a shootout, I think, especially with Chad Clifton back to help protect Rodgers and Eli's tendency to throw bad interceptions. But if the Giants decide to run, succeed and hold the ball ... look out.

GB 38 NYG 24
Without the hyperventilating NYC press, the Giants are nothing special. Beating two 8-8 teams and the choke-happy Falcons doesn't exactly constitute a "hot" streak. The Giants have managed to score more than the GB average of 35 points per game ONCE all season. The Giants newly-vaunted D will do great stopping the Packers rushing game. Unfortunately for them, that's not really what GB does. With an early lead, the Pack will force Eli to air it out, and he'll rack up some yards and a few TDs, but he'll also add to the Packers' amazing +24 turnover ratio. Don't drink the NY Kool-Aid on this one. Packers lead wire-to-wire, in a relatively easy win.

From what I can see, BillLongisland, Patch is not asking for any participant money in this game. So it's not 'gambling' in any sense of the word; it's more along the lines of winning a prize for guessing a correct score. In other words, someone is giving away money (gift card) for basically nothing in return. How do you see it differently?

LOL BillLongIsland, this is a contest - not gambling. Anyone can enter (pursuant to the terms above) and at no risk of loss or with requirement of purchase, etc. I sure hope you don't waste your time contacting everyone holding a contest (retail, tv shows, magazines, etc.) to question the legality - that would be quite the fulltime job!

Green Bay has an awful defense. Giants D is much healthier than the last meeting and their game has shown it. Starting Christmas Eve, they beat Rex Ryan, then Rob Ryan, then Matt Ryan so don't expect too many yards from Ryan Grant.
Last meeting Eli threw for 347 yards and 3 TDs only to lose on a field goal as time expired. The Giants running game was also awful that game, nothing like the present.
The Pass rush has been punishing and Rodgers is gonna take his licks.
Giants will shock the Packers 41-24.

To Matthew Schroeder:

Just at a quick glance:
Since you are in Green Bay territory.
Not sure if you can tell what region people are from...
Lets assume most pickers are from Green Bay, because that's where this originated from.
Seems like more Giants victories to me.......
Can you let us know what the percentages were.
This is so darn exciting.
I may need to go buy some Cow-Dung for my lawn...

@Paul: Thanks for asking. There are 40 Patch sites in Long Island and 15 in the Milwaukee area participating in this contest. We only have 15 in Milwaukee, so all are taking part. Thanks to our colleagues on Long Island for jumping on board. There are more than 230 entries at this point and I'll come up with some statistics and share them after the game, when we announce the winner.

Thank you.
The one big plus is that these are two iconic teams playing for the top spot.
Couldn't ask for better opponents.
We (my dad) are Giants season ticket holders.
Dads been a season ticket holder since 1958 and I started going in 1976 when they opened the Meadowlands.
Got tickets to the 3 past Giants Superbowls. ...
Been there done that....
Not by a scalper but by the lottery process for season ticket holders.
This I hope is a tremendous old style tuff game...
Those who don't know the history between the two teams take a moment to google it....

Do you sense evidence of him having played against opponents extremely lacking in accuracy?

What a simpleminded little statement.

@Skip: You made two picks; 28-17 and 16-13. You'll need to settle on one to be eligible. Thanks!

Giants 31, Green Bay 28
Further, Giants are going to be down 10 at the beginning of the 4th quarter. They'll score 7, both defenses will hold for a few possessions, then Manning will run the 2:00 drill and Giants kick a field goal with less then 1:00 left. Rodgers will try to match that, but the Giants will pick him off to win the game.
Then Cinderella gets her slipper back and they all live happily ever after.

Which Giant team will show? They seem to be peaking at the right time. Head says Green Bay but heart says New York. Giants 41 Packers 30.
