Counterfeit $20 Bill Caught at Cornerstone Community Bank

Fox Point police were recently contacted about another counterfeit bill case at Cornerstone Community Bank.
At 1:30 p.m. Jan. 4, a bank employee presented Fox Point police with a counterfeit $20 bill. She said it arrived at the bank that afternoon with a routine business deposit from Kiwk Stop gas station, the same depositor who had a $5 counterfeit bill in late December. She said the cash was processed through the money counter and the machine flagged the bill as counterfeit.
In November, a false $100 circulated through Starbucks and another Benjamin went through Walgreens. Police sent the counterfeit bills on to the Secret Service for review.
