Check back with this column throughout the day for the latest recall-related news.

11:15 a.m.: Barrett releases new TV ad

Democrat Tom Barrett on Saturday released a new television ad that his compaign claims highlights new evidence that shows Gov. Scott Walker has been "stonewalling" the John Doe investigation into former Walker aides.

"After months of claiming he has cooperated fully with this criminal corruption probe, new evidence has come to light that shows Scott Walker has done the exact opposite,” said Barrett spokesman Phil Walzak. “Scott Walker is not a straight shooter and it's long past time this governor to come clean about why he has a criminal defense fund, why he won't release the emails, and whether he is a target of this investigation.”

8:25 a.m.: Two Rallies Set in Racine County

Racine County will be ground zero for the recall campaign today as tea party groups and Wisconsin Democrats will be holding rallies just miles apart.

The Racine Tea Party rally will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at Gorney Park, 8201 Nicholson Road in Caledonia. Officials with the national Tea Party Express and Pennsylvania Tea Party Activists, plus many key Wiscosin Republicans will be on hand at the event.

The Democratic rally, featuring Ed Schultz, of MSNBC’s "The Ed Schultz Show," will take place at noon on Saturday at the Racine Labor Center, 2100 Layard Ave., in Racine.

I still find it interesting that Barrett has NO plan for the state's economy! He says, 'let's talk about John Doe, let's talk about all the money Walker has raised, let's talk about divide an conquer'. At some point doesn't he get rid of a 5 year old's mentality of 'look what he did!'. Grow up and tell us what YOU did or can do! Truth is, ye,s you did balance the budget for 8 years- BUT you raise taxes almost every year to do it!!!! Good luck being stuck as mayor of a failing city. Use the tools Walker gave you to help the citizens of Milwaukee and quit being a bull headed puppet!!

U.S. Labor Department confirmed and raised the jobs number for Wisconsin. Enough said!

Tom Barrett is a weak, weak man. At this time in America we need strong leaders like Scott Walker who are willing to make bold choices. The last thing this state needs is a Progressive Governor who is lead around by the nose by his radical Progressive wife. We already have that playing out in the White House and its not working. Progressive men in general are weak and subservient and should never be given the seat of power.

Hu8ge turnout today at the Racine Tea Party gathering. Approx 4000 people compared to the official Clinto showing of 900. Its obvious the people of this State support Gov Walkers policies and finally we have a leader in office who is doing exactly what he said he would do without having to raise taxes.

Does strong mean sneaky and underhanded to you. He does start out doing what he says and then "under the table" does something to hurt a large segment of the voters. That I do not understand.

@Rosie-You do mean a very small portion of the population dont you? Dont forget I as a private sector employee and tax payer, I am the one who pays wages!! So as I continue to be affected by the economy and my costs continue to rise, I am supposed to just sit back and allow the public sector employee to continue to recieve their lavish pensions? Allow them to have the power to bargain for more? HELL NO!! Its very apparent with the 4000 people who turned out at the tea party rally compared to a grand total of maybe 1500 people who turned out for the Clinton ralloury, the Ed Schultz, and the gathering in Madison all together oh and the whopping 100 people who turned out for Jesse Jackson. Hmmmmm seems like your statement could not be more inacurate than your ideology. Please think for yourself and not what your told to think.

Barrett is weak and ineffectual. His entire campaign is based on lies and innuendo. He has done nothing for Milwaukee in 8 years, his wife campaigned on her government email, his personal secretary was convicted of felonious assault and battery for beating and trying to strangle his girlfriend. He says it's all about trust and brings in "Slick Willie" Clinton to stump for him. Yeah!

Walker is doing the same thing! All politicians are doing this and I say it's time for honesty in politics too.

Barrett stands for the value of respecting people and working together with people even when their viewpoints may be different. When you respect people to work with them rather than railroading over them, the work is harder and sometimes longer, but better for everyone. Why are so many people unhappy with Walker that they signed his recall papers? Because he railroaded over people rather than working with them and listening to them.

@Carol-Really? Because thats what I want someone who can be all warm and fuzzy and make me feel welcome and appreciated rather than action. When your a low informed voter warm and fuzzy feels good. Look Obama is the master at warm and fuzzy as one of the greastest community organizers.
Sorry Carol I want action from my elected officials. I want a leader who is not afraid to stand up and do the right thing. Realizing that some toes will get stepped on but when its for the good of everyone stepping on some toes is ok. Because u will never satisfy everyone all the time. Gov Walker is that type of leader and has done exactly when he was elected to do. Thus all this chaos because he is not the norm!! We Love Gov Walker. Remember life is not always fair and little johnny does not have to win all the time nor does little johnny have to get equal playing time. I saw this same attitude in youth sports!! We are becomming a nation of whimps under your progressive extremist liberal ideology

And Democrats don't push through legislation when they have a majority instead of listening to the other side?

BASD pushed through a tax increase, despite a voter referendum telling them not to, Doyle's midnight budget, Obamacare, etc!

Let's get real, shall we?

There is only an impression of railroading since no Democratic Senators were in the Senate chamber to debate Act 10.

No, I do not mean a small portion of the population! Many of us are effected by the things Walker has done. I do think for myself, thank you, and am not impressed by the way Walker is doing things. Others, in the past, have paid to get you where you are and it's our turn to do the same for those younger than we. Why should we allow our elected officials to use monies slated to help those in need to balance their budgets and make themselves look good at their expense. I'm sorry you can't see that helping others will eventually help us too.

@Rosie-Think for yourself!!! Please explain to me why IL rasied taxes 65% are worse off then when the Gov took office? Which by the way Gov Walker took office at the same time. Please explain why the teachers in IL were just offered a 2% increase but turned it down and are now talking strike. Bottom like public employees are dependent upon the tax base when it shrinks so does their compensation. Dont forget they are public servants period!! Those jobs were not meant to make someone rich. You really dont understand. If its such a big deal then please explain why Federal Employees do not have collective bargaining for wages and benefits then? So hypocritical and most def double standards!!!!
