Donation Boxes Busted at St. Eugene Congregation

Thief pried open both the west and east side collection boxes stealing any cash that was inside. A maintenance worker told police this isn't the first time this has happened.

There are no suspects in the theft of donations from a local church, an unfortunate incident that has happened at that church before, according to the building's maintenance worker.

A maintenance worker at  told on May 21 that two wooden donation boxes for the St. Vincent de Paul charities had been forced open and an unknown amount of cash inside was stolen. And while she said she can't remember the date of the last incident, this isn't the first time money has been stolen from the donation boxes.

Police investigated and discovered the latch on the west side box was bent 90 degrees and the east side box had screw driver pry marks on the now broken lock.
