Felonious Clothing Raid at Victoria's Secret in Bayshore
Police say the suspect and three accomplices entered the store and began to fill large shopping bags with clothes, then fled in a rental car.
An 18-year-old Milwaukee woman is accused of going into Victoria’s Secret at Bayshore Town Center and stealing $1,500 worth of clothes with three accomplices.
Ashley Champayne Armstrong was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Monday with one count of felony retail theft. If convicted, she faces up to 1 ½ years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
At 6:47 p.m. Dec. 13, Armstrong and three other people entered the store with large shopping bags and began to fill them with various items in the store. A manager grabbed a sweater Armstrong was trying to steal, but Armstrong refused to let go, then fled out the store with the other people and got into a car later determined to be a rental.
Armstrong and the accomplices cleared out two racks and one shelf of clothing valued at $1,585, which included 24 pairs of sweatpants and 10 T-shirts.
The manager was able to identify Armstrong by photo. Armstrong is currently out of custody, but a warrant has been issued for her arrest.
