Former School Board Member Arrested at Nicolet Homecoming
It took two Glendale police officers to remove Jennifer Peltz from the Nicolet homecoming game Friday after principal asked to have a half-barrel of root beer removed from school property because kids were doing keg stands.
Former Nicolet High School board member Jennifer Peltz was arrested for disorderly conduct at the school's Homecoming football game after she resisted arrest when officers repeatedly told her to remove a half-barrel of root beer because kids were doing keg stands.
According to the Glendale police report:
About 20 students were standing around a half-barrel of root beer and doing keg stands – one student would do a handstand on top of the barrel while others held him or her up, and they would drink upside down from the spigot.
Traditionally, this is a college drinking game done with a barrel of beer.
Because of the keg's resemblance to beer and a concern for student safety, Principal Greg DePue and facilities director Brian Reiels asked a parent standing nearby to remove the keg from school property.
At first, the parent questioned why the keg needed to be removed and argued with the administrators, but ultimately, she and several other people picked up the keg and began to take it to a vehicle in the parking lot.
A short time later, Peltz walked up and said, "As school Booster Club president, we are donating the keg to the students. Please have them drink it and allow them to enjoy homecoming."
The school police liaison officer, standing nearby, joined the discussion, and the parent group brought the keg back as soon as they heard Peltz talking with the police officer.
Reiels explained that the school could not accept donations like a keg, and it would have to be removed. Peltz argued with Reiels and began trying to move the keg further onto school property on her own.
Another officer joined the first, and several times they told Peltz that the keg needed to be removed. But she only became more defiant, saying, "No" to police.
At this point, a crowd had gathered around Peltz and the officers, the report said. While Peltz's hand was on the tapper, she was told to let go repeatedly but would not. An officer removed Peltz's hand from the tapper and she pushed her arm toward him.
Peltz was then told she was under arrest for disorderly conduct, but she wouldn't go quietly.
She struggled while one officer held her left wrist, pulling away and not supplying her right arm as she was told. A second officer grabbed her other arm, and finally she was taken to the ground by both officers.
She still wouldn't supply her other arm, which was now tucked under her body, so an officer had to forcibly pull it out and put it behind her back.
Peltz, the keg and the tapper were transported to the Glendale Police Department. She was cited for disorderly conduct.
Peltz did not return our phone call or email requests for comment.

Seems a bit like over exuberance on the part of Nicolet administrators (again). Don't know all the facts, but could this situation have been resolved without a power struggle? Nicolet administrators are in danger of alienating / polarizing good parents who do much for the school. This can't be good.

What? Are you nuts? You don't let children do keg stands, regardless of the content of the keg. And you surely don't disobey the police when they give you a directive. Terrible role model. Incredibly shameful event.

You really think this type of behavior is indicative of "good parents"? let me guess, you were one of the group of "good parents" trying to bring the keg back on school grounds after being directed by the police not to. "Power struggle" ? That's what you call failing to heed direct commands by the police. But hey, time to man the barricades, eh? This "Concerned Parent" Is as nuts as the fine, upstanding Pres ( or hopefully, soon to be) ex-pres of the Booster Club. Maybe next football game, all of you cut down on the pre-game ! Just saying

Sounds as if the dingbat was drinking the real stuff. And throwing her "weight" around with the "don't you know who I am...pres of the booster cub". Talk about setting a good example...not !
If she had any decency (which obviously is in question), she would resign. If not, Nicolet will have no choice but to get rid of her. Don't lay this one on the administration. Just another example of drunken helicopter parents going wild.

Just to let you know Bewildered, Jennifer Peltz is no longer on the school board. Last year was her final term and she did not run for reelection.

Thx Sara. I was referring to her position as current Pres of the Booster club, which she needs to resign from after this disgraceful incident.
BTW, feel better .

Ok for one.bewildered you obviously have to much time on ur hands and need some grammar lessons. Gi back to school. And also THERE WAS NO PRE GAME if you knew anything you would know our pep rally got canceled and that nicolet admin. Is effing up everyone's senior year. Also what a great impression for the freshman this year, nextvyears freshman and the students who just transfered this year to nicolet. They are ruining their schools reputation and I honestly would rather be at Riverside University High School cause they have yet to be on the news this year

What a poor example of parenting..... Ms. Peltz deserved her punishment. Keg stands are never to be promoted, let alone on school property....... even if I have done them back in my youth. Never put your hands on a police officer, they are just trying to do their job.
