The Nicolet High School girls basketball team lost their first game of the season on Tuesday at home vs. Milwaukee Riverside, then lost their first conference
game in four years on Friday at Grafton. Their season 16 game unbeaten streak ended in a 65-57 loss to the Tigers despite 21 points from Senior Brittney Fair. Briana Gray (12) and Courtney Smith (11) helped keep Nicolet in the game but Riverside was in control from the start.
The the girls tried to regroup as they traveled to Grafton but fell to the Blackhawks 51-46. Fair had 21, Smith had nine and Becca Olin had eight but it wasn't enough to prevent the end of their 44 game North Shore Conference win streak. Then against the Blackhawks on Friday night, the Knights used a balanced scoring attack and some good passing to win their first conference game of
the year. Tyler Miller had 17 points. Treland Jenkins and Corey Smith each had 10 and Eugene Bonner had eight. The Boys will travel to Cedarburg on Tuesday and Germantown on Thursday.
