North Shore Guide to Holiday Services
An overview of where and when congregations will be celebrating the holidays.
The North Shore offers many ways to celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah this season.
For a midnight mass, check out St. Robert in Shorewood. For more family-friendly masses, consider United Methodist Church's youth-led service or Fox Point Lutheran Church's children's service of "Las Posadas."
Here's a breakdown of most congregations in the North Shore.
Shorewood
- St. Robert will have Christmas services Saturday at 4:30 p.m. and midnight, and Sunday at 11 a.m.
- North Shore Presbyterian Church will have Christmas services Saturday at 5 p.m. and a candelight service at 10 p.m. On Sunday, there will be a 10:30 a.m. worship.
- Luther Memorial will have Christmas services Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 9 a.m.
- Kingo Lutheran Church will have Christmas services Saturday at 4 p.m. and a candlelight service at 10:30 p.m. They will also have a service at 10 a.m. Sunday.
Whitefish Bay
- United Methodist Church has a full day of celebrations planned for Saturday, with a regular service at noon, a youth-led service at 7 p.m., and two pageants in between. There will also be caroling at 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. They will also have a Christmas service at 10 a.m. Sunday.
- Christ Church Episcopal will have Christmas services Saturday at 4 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., and Sunday at 9:15 a.m.
- Bay Shore Lutheran Church will have Christmas services Saturday at 4 p.m. and 10 p.m., and Sunday at 10:15 a.m.
- Holy Family will have Christmas services Saturday at 5 p.m. and 11 p.m., and Sunday at 10 a.m.
- St. Monica will have Christmas services Saturday at 5 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., and Sunday at 8 a.m. and 10:15 a.m.
Fox Point
- Congregation Sinai will celebrate Hanukkah at their regular Shabbat service at 6:15 p.m. Friday.
- Congregation Shalom will celebrate Hanukkah with a dinner 6 p.m. Friday and a service at 6:45 p.m. There will be a Shabbat service at 10 a.m. Saturday and candle lighting Dec. 23 and Dec. 30.
- St. Eugene Catholic Church will have Christmas services Saturday at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., and Sunday at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.
- North Shore Congregational Church will have a twighlight worship with lessons and carols at 4 p.m. Saturday, and a candlelight worship at 11 p.m. Saturday. They will also have an informal worship and communion at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.
- St. John's Lutheran Church will have a family service at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and a candlelight worship at 11 p.m. Saturday. They will have a 9:30 a.m. worship Sunday.
- Fox Point Lutheran Church will have Christmas services Saturday at 10:30 a.m., 5:30 p.m., 7 p.m. and 11 p.m., and Sunday at 9 a.m. They will also have a special children's service, Las Posadas, at 4 p.m. Saturday.
