Along with water balloons, a parachute and a pinata, students from St. Eugene School got to celebrate the beginning of summer with some freshly fried hot dogs and hamburgers at Doctors Park Tuesday.

Kids swung at a candy-filled pinata, devoured burgers, soda and candy, and played games with a parachute.

Organized by third-grade teacher Joe Mirasola, the kids were all smiles and screams of joy.

Mirasola has been a teacher at St. Eugene's school for 15 years, but this is the ninth year he's run the barbecue. He continued to credit the the parent volunteers for
