Michael George Jones, 30, allegedly stole electronics from the health care clinic just one week after the items were installed. If convicted, he faces up to 12 ½ years in prison and $25,000 in fines.
A 30-year-old man is facing charges after he allegedly broke into a Fox Point health care clinic in July 2011 and stole electronic items recently installed as part of a renovation.
Michael George Jones was charged in Milwaukee County Circuit Court Friday with one count of burglary. If convicted, he faces up to 12 ½ years in prison and $25,000 in fines.
According to the criminal complaint:
An employee coming to work on July 21, 2011, at the Aurora Health Care Clinic, 8675 N. Port Washington Rd., arrived to find a window smashed and two, 70-inch flat screen televisions sitting outside. When Fox Point Police officers arrived, they entered the building and found several rooms had been broken into in the clinic.
The TV’s by the window had been taken from inside the building and also missing were two, 52-inch monitors and a laptop computer. The electronics had been installed at the building just one week prior to the break-in as part of a renovation of the clinic. The damages were estimated by police at more than $30,000.
Officers recovered DNA from pieces of broken glass, the two TV’s and on a hammer, which were eventually traced back to Jones.
Jones is currently out of custody and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
