Woman Takes Unauthorized Shower at Vita Fitness
Stolen towels and a can of Lysol found on suspect at Best Buy later that day.
A 23 year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for unauthorized showering at Vita Fitness, 8677 N. Port Washington Rd., on Wednesday.
According to Bayside police:
Associates at Vita called police when a woman was found showering without permission or payment. She had already left when police arrived, and had been cited in April for the same incident. They advised police that nothing looked damaged or seemed to be missing. Or so they thought.
Later that day, police found the woman at Best Buy. When they recognized her, they asked if she had recently been to Vita. She admitted she had, but only to use the restroom. Officers asked if the woman remembered the incident last year when she was banned from Vita for unauthorized showering, and she replied, "I forgot."
Officers then arrested her for trespassing and patted her down. They found three towels, shower gel and a can of Lysol. Associates at Vita told the officers that they were missing towels and a can of Lysol.
While police had the woman in custody, she made calls to her mother and a friend. The arresting officer said that the woman knew police were within listening distance, but she admitted to showering at Vita, stating that "She went to Vita Fitness to shower because she does not like to shower at home because her stepbrother peeks at her."
Because of her substantial arrest history, including multiple counts of misdemeanor theft, the woman was cited for theft and trespassing and taken to the Milwaukee County Jail.
