County Executive Chris Abele Applauds Gov. Walker’s Commitment to Mental Health

Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele applauds Gov. Scott Walker’s announcement this week of a $29 million investment in mental health programs and services.

“More than any other county in the state, Milwaukee County struggles with funding for these critical services. We’ve been working with DHS Secretary Dennis Smith for months on reforming the way Milwaukee County provides these services.  I’m hopeful the Governor’s announcement today will allow us to move forward quickly on making important and long called for changes,” Abele said.

In his two budgets as County Executive Abele has added millions of dollars in funding for mental health redesign efforts.

Working for months with Dennis Smith? How's that working out for ya Chris. Hey Chris- I see you've emerged from your Trojan horse.

Walker is trying to deflect the new assault weapon proposals to just keeping those with mental problems from getting them. Abele, out of desperation or conviction, is looking more and more like a Republican.
Throwing it all away, Abele. A budget wonk sucked in by the dark side.
