Getting Ready to go to Charlotte

The Wisconsin Delegation is getting ready to go to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte North Carolina.

We'll be posting from Charlotte here on Patch, bringing readers reports directly from the delegates and the different activities and events.  Stay tuned!

It'll be interesting to see if the Dems have anything to offer other than class-warfare and erroneously trashing the Republican opposition.

My guess is NOT!

On to Charlotte. Too bad the GOP sought to spew their garbage and lies this week when we have a chance to come back at it this week. Enjoy your two point bounce for Mittenstein and Eddie. You'll be saying good bye to it at the end this week.

Keith.... the RNC was turning folks away because of crowd control. The DNC is no longer selling tickets to the convention. They're giving them away. ;) lol

The DNC is combing through its rolodex right now, trying to come up with a "surprise guest" who can carry on a cranky, rambling, odd and pathetically dottering dialogue with a piece of furniture. That's the only way we'll win this thing...

How does Gary Busey vote? Busey with a La-Z-Boy, that would probably be on par with Eastwood's humiliating RNC performance

But you did affirmatively assert that that the yacht excursion was publicly funded. Please provide your proof - or admit that you were LYING about this.

The point is that Hoffa doesn't care how the Repubs or the Dems spend their own money and time, but find the Dems use of their time and money under such circumstances as described in JB's link as being dubious.

What Hoffa does have a problem with is Obama spending our money, during the height of the Great Recession, to throw himself a luxury party at the WH!

It shows that not only is Obama out of touch with reality, but that he also has no regard in how he spends our money on himself! He has proven to be a poor steward of our dollars and as someone that make poor decisions because, quite frankly - he just doesn't care! Otherwise, he would have apologized for the party.

I was reading about the DNC Convention line up, what is it with the Democrat Party’s obsession with Islam? Has Islam ever done any good for anyone or anything? Could this obsession come from our President Hussein Obama? Or could it be the DNC’s love of anything that is non-traditional American? Radical Islam, gay marriage, support of the Occupy freaks, illegal immigration, it all falls into a pattern; Democrats just don’t like the culture and values that made America a once-great country. In fact, they seem to embrace anything that goes against the taxpaying, hard-working American people. On November 6th the Democrat Party must be annihilated politically. Democrats want nothing to do with baseball and apple pie and they have royally screwed up Chevrolet.

After watching Barrett debate Walker twice, while failing to come up with any plan/ideas of his own on both occasions, I've pretty much given up on the Democrats having any cognizable message of their own.

Their entire strategy is to trash their opponent while offering nothing unique.

Romney offers a detailed 57 point plan on his website. Have you read his entire plan or viewed the entirety of his website? Hoffa has viewed ALL of Obama's website, and by comparison, there's nothing there - it's full of generalizations, non-specific assessments, and little else. After four years of doing the job and Obama can't give us something a little more specific? You've got to be kidding me!

And Obama has already proven that he can't be trusted to tell the truth to voters. Remember these beauties:

My health care plan will NOT contain a mandate. I will not raise taxes on the middle/working classes. I will end the wars on day one. I will close Gitmo. Etc.

The guy buys votes with bold faced LIES - and he's trying to do it again!

I've already wasted enough of my time/life waiting for the Dems to offer something truthful and substantive. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice...

Hoffa will not be fooled by the Dems again - they've already taken enough of my time and treasure and wasted it!

I applaud you if you read all of the 150+ pages in Romney's plan. When you say that the plan is "detailed", can you point out where in the plan the "detailed" specifics are about how the proposed tax cuts are going to be paid for? You can't just say that because the plan will succeed, they will pay for themselves.

Comment_arrow

James R Hoffa

@John Feia -

The information you request would be found in the section entitled 'Spending.' The web summary of that part of the plan can be found here:

http://www.mittromney.com/issues/spending

Can you see how Romney proposes "a smaller, simpler, smarter government?"

When the government spends less, it needs less revenues to operate. That's a pretty simple concept - I'm surprised that you guys on the left have such a hard time with it. Therefor, tax breaks do not necessarily need to be 'paid for,' as you call it.

The problem with you guys on the left is that you are always using an unrealistic baseline upon which to assess everything. Not to mention that as taxes go down, the economy will expand, and even though everyone will be paying less into the government, prosperity means that the base will expanded and thus revenues will actually go up. We've seen this happen before, lest you forget.

But please, keep on ignoring reality and cling to your belief that the government needs to be ginormous and wiping everyone's asses for them.

The repeal of Obamacare, also a part of Romney's plan, will also eliminate all of the new spending and taxes that are found within that piece of worthless legislation!

Comment_arrow

James R Hoffa

4:53 pm on Saturday, September 1, 2012

@John Feia -

The payroll tax cuts can be extended if you allowed people to opt out of Medicare and SS, which is a part of the GOP plan/philosophy.

The investment component of SS is nothing but a fraud anyway. The money in the SS fund doesn't make any money for the people paying into and benefiting from the program - it merely taxes people even more under a different name, the federal income tax.

"the cost of a publicly fund partisan trip is."

Hoffa thought that you were referring to the yacht excursion with the quoted passage. However, Hoffa now realizes that you were just misinformed about Yoder - probably because you limit your resources to the Daily Kos and MSNBC.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/she-the-people/post/yoder-apologizes-for-skinny-dipping/2012/08/20/a295067c-eaea-11e1-866f-60a00f604425_blog.html

"Last August, he went skinny-dipping in the Sea of Galilee while on a private fact-finding tour sponsored by the American Israel Education Foundation."

Last Hoffa checked, the AIEF is not funded by the federal government. Hoffa thought that you were aware of this FACT, and thus presumed that such quoted passage must have been in reference to the yacht excursion.

Thanks for your help... I may have been misinformed about the funding source of the AIEF but if you try and say that there were no government expenditures involved with this trip you are fooling yourself.

Never the less the only reason I brought it up was because of you strangely bringing up a White House Halloween party that was totally unrelated to the topic of comparing back room meetings by both parties.

You like to spew out to anyone who has a differing opinion than yours to think for themselves, I do think for myself. I don't need to cite an alter ego to state my opinion. My opinion is what is is and is based on so much more than I believe you can fathom. The last thing I am looking to do is gain respect and credibility from a person whose lack of respect for others demeans his own credibility. I'm really not interested in what Hoffa will say Hoffa thinks about this.

@John Feia -

"I may have been misinformed about the funding source of the AIEF but if you try and say that there were no government expenditures involved with this trip you are fooling yourself."

Hoffa prefers to work off facts as opposed to mere speculation, supposition, and conjecture, so if you could kindly provide a link, that would be great!

Looks like someone was upset because they were wrong!

But hey, if you want to compare back room meetings, then let's do so!

Was the yacht excursion segregated by age, race, nationality, ethnicity, etc, like the Dem back room meeting is schedule to be according to JB's link?

@Hoffa
You once again avoid the point and purpose of my post. Not surprising but at least you are consistent.

@John Feia -

You mentioned a yacht excursion, that in all reality was a campaign/fund raising function as opposed to being an official part of the RNC convention, in comparison to discriminatory caucuses scheduled to take place as an official part of the upcoming DNC convention.

You're right - I don't see the point that your trying to make because you're comparing apples to oranges.

Obama also has exclusive closed doors campaign fund raising functions - like his little dinner parties with George Clooney, Wall Street money men, etc.

The fact of the matter is that you can't compare apples to apples in this instance because the GOP did not do anything like what the discriminating/segregating Dems are about to do in Charlotte!

Message from the GOP - we are all ONE country!

Message from the Dems - we discriminate/segregate people by race, age, ethnicity, gender, etc.

The messages are clear.

Fake liberal hope and change ready to fool more of the masses. Too bad the liberal voters don't realize that the Democrats are corporatist frauds just as the Republican are. However the Democrats are generally three times as destructive so going with the Republicans is the lesser of two evils. They should be voting for a real liberal party like the Green Party just as the conservatives should be voting for Libertarians or Constitution Party candidates.

You're absolutely right. It's unfortunate that more people don't see it that way.

"The Poster"

Youth unemployment remains high, with 18-24 year olds facing unemployment over 15%. In a poll conducted by Crossroads Generation of 800 registered voters aged 18-29, only 22% said that they thought Obama had put into place policies that have made it easier for young people to find jobs. lil' boy Mikey Tate and his sidekick Gramey Zee are the gifts that keep on giving.
I hope they continue their actions and their rants for years to come.
