Transcripts to Presidency
Recently the government released its monthly jobs numbers. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, while the economy has shown no real recovery, our unemployment rate dropped by the biggest single month drop in 29 years. This has brought out some people skeptical of the data, how it was collected and whether our administration is in the process of covering up a failing record. That made me think, is Obama’s presidential record a parallel to his college records.
Obviously, at this point in time Obama has yet to release his transcripts from Occidental, Columbia or Harvard. Our only known record of his time at these institutions comes from the little he discusses in his own books. However, that hasn’t stopped some from not only making assumptions regarding his college stint, but also begin to probe the peripherals of these institutions to dig for information.
The best known person who has attempted to do some research, regarding Obama’s time at Columbia specifically, is fellow ’83 graduate Wayne Allan Root. He makes the claim that Obama is hiding some damning information within his records and he makes a descent enough case for it. He believes that the following will be found if the transcripts are released: A) He rarely ever attended class. B) His grades were not those typical of what we understand it takes to get into Harvard Law School. C) He attended Columbia as a foreign exchange student. D) He paid little for either undergraduate college or Harvard Law School because of foreign aid and scholarships given to a poor foreign students like this kid Barry Soetoro from Indonesia.
These are all plausible reasons for not releasing your transcripts. I will add that none are worth preventing Obama from being president; however, could they shed light his attitude toward work.
A) He rarely ever attended class.
The President, as all presidents, tells the American public that they have been working tirelessly for the American people; however, actions speak louder then words. For example, Obama was doing campaign stops in Las Vegas the day we found out that a US Embassy had been raided killing an Ambassador. This was quickly followed by the report that the President had not met with his Security Council for nearly a week prior to that attacks of 9/11. Rather he was simply given a cliff notes version or Presidential Daily Brief that we are supposed to assume he studied. In fact, during his Presidency he has only attended about 44% of all security briefings. The prior President had attended nearly all.
Golfing has also been an interesting diversion from the job of the presidency. Since Obama’s time in office, he has golfed about 104 times. During those 6 hours, each round, on the links, he is able to escape the pressures of not getting a budget passed, not doing anything legislatively with immigration and not finding a solution to the Middle East. It also makes the turmoil of high unemployment disappear as the beverage cart in the country club brings him a cold one. Maybe if we had known that dedication to school came at the bottom of his list of accomplishments we could have expected this absent President.
B) His grades were not those typical of what we understand it takes to get into Harvard Law School.
Root claims that if Obama grades were good he would want to show them. Prove to his accusers that he is the great intellectual that his liberal supports believe. Personally, I don’t care what your grades were in school. History has proven that academic achievement does not translate directly to success.
However, a little over month ago the President was asked to grade his presidency. His answer was “incomplete”. From my own experience both during my childhood and with my own children, an incomplete usually one of two things: 1) You had an excusable absence from class and school policy allows ‘X’ numbers of days to complete. The grade will be held as incomplete until finished. or 2) You failed to complete the assignment in the allotted time, but you have a teacher willing to extend his/her mercy to you and push back the due date.
Either way, one must question the motives behind the President offering up an “incomplete” for his grade. We obviously know he is not trying to tell the American people that he failed or that he has an excusable absence, but is it possible that his experience in school was one of unexcused missed classes and gracious teachers extending deadlines? Therefore, it would appear logical to him to make a request to the nation that in the presence of failure he should recieve extra time.
C) He attended Columbia as a foreign exchange student.
I can already hear those of you who mock the birthers warming up your fingers to post below; however, you must understand that Root is making the claim that Obama was born in the US but misrepresented himself on his college application in order to receive foreign student benefits.
During the 2008 election cycle, we were told numerous times that we were to accept ‘Hope and Change’ without looking into Obama’s past. The media, as it does today, convinced the public that he was a centrist, the Great Unifier and a strong leader. We were told his race was the qualifier and just like the colleges, to grant him the Presidency on his racial background.
D) He paid little for either undergraduate college or Harvard Law School because of foreign aid and scholarships given to a poor foreign students like this kid Barry Soetoro from Indonesia.
As the minorities blindly backed a black president and the liberal whites voted out of racial guilt; the media was able to white wash any information regarding who Obama was. Normally the price to be paid for entering the Presidential race is an alien like anal probe by the media. They check out your family, friends, neighbors, business partners and the girl you sat next to in the 2nd grade. They don’t stop until either you are discredited or humiliated. Nothing like that happened with Obama. It is nearly four years since he was elected and we are still learning about his true political philosophies. It was until recently we learned that he was mentored by Marxist professors. It took until the last couple weeks that we learned that Rev. Jeremiah Wright brought Obama to faith and is a man he respects, the same man who said “God D*mn America”. We are now learning things that would have doomed any other president. Not to mention that as the Libya scandal plays out we are learning that Hilary was right when her commercial claimed that he was not he man for the 3am phone call.

The Obama Presidency has played out like a college student who doesn’t care because he is attending on his parent’s dime. It is what we would expect from a person who has not gotten to where he is through hard work, but through undeserved tax payer founded assistance programs and lies. Do we need the transcripts? No, it is to late now. For this election, his own actions have laid out the best reason for him being a one term president.

If you mean that the concept of Obama being an intellectual resides with Elvis and Big Foot; then I suppose you are right.
However, since you have brought no proof that my assessment is wrong, my assertion that we would find stark similarities between Obama's weak presidential performance and his (assumed) weak college performance is not conspiracy but a rather excellent conclusion drawn from available evidence. Thus the hidden transcripts would in fact have in 2008 revealed a man unwilling to take charge of his own life and obviously unfit to take charge of a the nation.

@J.B. Schmidt...Just because you can't prove something doesn't mean it exists or doesn't exist. the problem with rumors and accusations is that they are almost impossible to debunk or prove. You could say that Obama is a pedophile and then to prove it isn't true, you would have to find no evidence of pedophilia.
As far as the president's intellectual and academic performance, what proof do you have for your accusations? You are now on the hook to provide proof of your accusations. If you can't back them up with credible sources, then you need to withdraw your blog.

It all boils down to this: If there is so much mystery about this one man, why will he not release the documentation the public has asked of him to prove us otherwise?
This man, no matter his origins, can not be re-elected. He has forever damaged this country and his treachery is certainly unrepairable.

Obama felt he had to even lie about girlfriends, they were "composite girlfriends". I don't trust much of what he says, I think most of it is "composite" or fantasy.

I agree and state as much as I finish the blog that his grades now are meaningless; however, it goes more to Michael's post that the media has and continues to white wash Obama as something that he is not now nor has ever been.
I don't need to see Romney's school records because he has compiled a successful business career behind his name. The same can be said for W. However, Obama has accomplished little between birth and presidency and in 2008 that fact deserved more scrutiny that it was given. Unfortunately the media's failure has now become the countries stalled recovery.

Transcripts matter much more than legally filed taxes. Just ask any employer or school official.
For the record, I care about neither. The Obama administration, however, cares about legally filed taxes. Therefore, let's see the transcripts, the admittance requirements/considerations of the president. Otherwise we should just call it what it is: politics and hypocritical.

some of you people are just so nit-picky about irrelevant matters, some of you also seem to twist the meaning of some words to suit your own needs.

The problem with most people here is that no one is willing to compromise on anything, it is your way or the highway. Which by the way is the single biggest problem in this country today.

I remember years ago when President Nixon tried to forever seal the Watergate tapes from the historical record. There was a big uproar about that from the media. I think the American people really do want the historical record of any president to be complete. It is part of our heritage.

@Michael McClusky...I disagree, the 'Watergate Tapes' were done while Nixon was in public office. Therefore, we have a right to access to them. Private records that aren't relevant should be private. If anyone is so concerned about private academic records, why aren't they demanding to see Scott Walker's MU records? It's immaterial and J.B. Schmidt is on a witch hunt to deflect attention from the real issues in this election.

@Lyle I think you missed the word 'complete.' Historians tend to be very thorough when it comes to analyzing a president's life and term in office. There are a million factors that go into such a study, but the point is is that a good historian will leave no stone unturned.

Just as I don't think that Romney's tax records have any relevance. Let the historians do their job afterward. It was just revealed that it was JFK who installed the recording system. It was Nixon who abused it and got caught.

As I stated to Heather, Obama has no record of worth aside from what is hailed as an above average college career. The only proof of that is in his book, a degree (which with the eagerness colleges are willing to had out degrees doesn't say much) and the media's hype. His transcripts mean nothing now, it is his record we can use to dethrone him.
The point is that this was and continues to be a hoax on the American people. There is no proof in the little we know about Obama that should have lead to the media to build a faux leader persona. If Romney's business records or Governor records were sealed (his life's achievements) and the media still built him up as a leader; then the same questions should asked.
I have proven that his presidency is lack luster and void of leadership. If the presidency is the crowning achievement of his life and this is the performance he was able to muster, it is easy to make the assertion that his college career looks similar and that the media failed to bring that to the American people. Just like there is an obvious attempt to cloud the events of Libya in the face of the evidence; they are trying to cloud the reality of Obama in the face of the evidence in plain sight.

@J.B. Schmidt...I think you are wrong on many levels. I don't see how you can justify a conspiracy between the MSM and the president. Where is the proof of the conspiracy? Just because the press hasn't turned up anything of worthy note doesn't prove either a conspiracy or that there is anything to be uncovered. Look at the 'birther' red herring and the nonsense surrounding that.
You haven't proven that Obama is either a lack luster or poor leader. I can't think of any of the conservatives who would have done better given the obstructionism that he and his administration has had to deal with. You are setting the bar after the fact and you haven't provided any objective measure. He shows much more concern for all the citizens and you can't claim that for Romney/Ryan who have written off 47% of the nation.
We need to gather more information about Libya. For once congress is doing their job with hearings. Romney immediately jumped on this even before any information was made available. Calling it an attempt to cloud the events is just not true, there wasn't enough information available. You're again implementing the press into a conspiracy to protect and promote Obama; just not true. The moderator for the VP Debate pushed the point very hard and she is very much a part of the MSM.

If Romney/Ryan really wrote off 47% of the nation, as you claim, then Obama has written off all non African American people, as Hoffa has previously shown with conclusive evidence even more damning than that of the Romney video - and yet you ignore Obama's bias for some reason or another. Why the double standard here?
In regards to Libya, Obama/Biden are claiming that intelligence just made up a story about a spontaneous protest over a YouTube video that turned violent, which never actually happened in reality. Where Hoffa comes from, when you make something up that never really happened, that's called a LIE.
And yet, no one was fired yet?!?! Why??? If you have people in intelligence making up stories, as Obama/Biden assert, doesn't that represent a dangerous threat to our national security? Shouldn't the person who LIED have been fired by now? And yet, there's no reports of anyone having been fired, and Obama/Biden are trusting that same intelligence that LIES to accurately convey how close Iran is to a nuke - that's OUTRAGEOUS!!!
Not to mention that intelligence denies having LIED. But someone is definitely LYING here! The fact that no one was fired yet for lying logically suggests that Obama/Biden are the ones LYING to the American people.
But where's the media on this??? Remember how the media went berserk when it was discovered that Saddam did not have WMDs???

The birthers issue and the 47% only build my case that media has been either MIA or in collusion. The MSM did major pieces on McCain's validity as a presidential contender because he was born in a foreign country on a military base; however, the Obama birth certificate issue was driven by the alternative media. Any true analysis of the 47% makes quick proof that Romney's statements were a realistic approach to campaigning. For example, My guess is that Obama is spending little money in Red states like ND vs. the amount he is spending in battle ground states. Does that therefore for mean he has written off the the people in ND. No. He just understands there is nothing he can do to change their minds.
Are you denying media bias? Which news agency has said that they investigated his college career and then said there is nothing "not worthy" with proof of attendance and grades? Which news agency produced the actual birth certificate rather than photo copies or certificates of live birth? Only Jake Tapper has pressured the administration to address their lies regarding Libya (remember they are guilty of lying about intel as W was), were is Chris Matthews on that issue?
You are attempting to label this a conspiracy because you know I speak the truth of the evidence provided.

What made people think a FIRST-TERM senator who spent most of that FIRST-TERM running for another office was qualified to be president? Especially since before that he spent his FIRST-TERM as a state senator running for another office for most of THAT FIRST-TERM. It must have been because he read Saul Alinsky's book, "Rules for Radicals".
