Are sports and arts programs at risk in the Nicolet School District and its feeders?
David Braeger thinks so. The local businessman and school supporter writes on Fox Point-Bayside Patch that while he hates wasteful spending, he thinks too many school boards and administrators — including those here — are looking for easy cuts in those programs, rather than taking a hard look elsewhere. He writes:It is potential district suicide if we continue to cut athletics and specials and it is a process that becomes never ending because the School Board can so simply rationalize that "they have to do it" instead of really "trimming fat."
Braeger also claims a serious tangible goal for supporting these programs. Read his blog to find out that goal, and comment on whether or not you agree with his stance.
