Watch Perseid Meteor Shower Before Dawn Monday

The annual event will allow observers to see up to 80 shooting stars every hour.

Make plans with your children to set up in the backyard overnight Sunday and Monday to see the Perseid meteor shower.

EarthSky.org suggests the best times to see the Perseids are between midnight and dawn. You eyes will need about 20 minutes to adjust to the dark before you pick up the meteors, which could number almost 80 per hour at the peak, according to Astronomy magazine.

The latest forecast from WISN 12 News suggests skies should be relatively clear for viewing at those hours.
