The Maple Dale School and Bayside Middle School will be participating in the Ride Your Bike Safely To School Day on June 1.

  • For Maple Dale School Students, the crosswalks at Regent Road and Brown Deer Road, and at Regent Road and Indian Creek Road will be monitored from 7:45 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and from 3:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m.
  •  For Bayside Middle School Students, the crosswalk at Pelham Parkway and Brown Deer Road will be monitored from 7:10 a.m. to 7:40 a.m. and from 3 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The crosswalks will be monitored by volunteers and officers from the Bayside Police Department. Endorsed by the Village of Bayside, the Bayside Police Department, Maple Dale School, and Bayside Middle School, this program is one component of a multi-faceted approach to slow vehicular traffic on Village streets, enhance driver attentiveness, and ultimately create a safer place for pedestrian, bicycle, and vehicular traffic.

In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held on  June 2.
