Art Trooper's Annual Ladies Night Out for "Empty Bowls" is Friday!

Art Trooper will be hosting their 6th Annual Ladies Night Out for Milwaukee Empty Bowls this Friday. Women come to paint ceramic cereal bowls which will be fired and donated to the Milwaukee Empty Bowls annual event in October. It's tradition and a fun time. What is Milwaukee Empty Bowls?  It's a non-profit organization that raises money for local hunger initiatives.  Milwaukee Empty Bowls is now going on their 15th year in operation. To date, they've raised over $250,000 for local hunger banks and community kitchens.  How does it work?  Bowls, donated by the community, schools, and local artisans are sold at their annual October event...about 2500 bowls. (This years fundraiser will be Oct. 6th at the Kern Center) Last year, they raised $51,000.00 in four hours.  Attendees buy the bowls and sample signature soups from area restaurants.  The  money raised is given directly to local, hunger-related charities.  Art Trooper needs women, scouts, and groups to paint bowls all year round!    Each year, Art Trooper donates about 350 bowls to the organization.  Over 1400 Art Trooper bowls have been sold and proceeds help feed the hungry. Ladies Night Out is Friday, July 26th from 7pm to 10pm.  The fee is $10.00 and it includes a bowl, appetizers, and beverages.
