Community Update

Rebecca Wahlberg (left), of Bayside, and
Elizabeth Behrendt, of Milwaukee, accepted a framed gorilla handprint Sept. 17 on behalf of their
parents, Alan and Karen Peck Katz. The award, presented at the Milwaukee County Zoo, marked
the Peck-Katz’s 25-year membership in the Platypus Circle, the Zoological
Society of Milwaukee’s major donor group. The annual Platypus Circle dinner is
a way to honor donors who have given significant support to the ZSM and its
mission. Karen Peck Katz is on the ZSM’s Board of Directors and her father,
Bernie Peck, is an honorary director who served many years as an active member
of the Board.
