Bites Nearby: Rosati's is More Than Just Pizza

With only seven locations in Wisconin, may be a chain but their Fox Point location makes it feel like your lovable ma-and-pa's pizzeria.

The Fox Point location sits in on Santa Monica Boulevard at River Point Shopping Center. Rosati's is small, with no restaurant seating — only takeout and delivery — but it's worth it.

We ordered a more traditional pizza, with sausage, mushroom and onion toppings, but switched up the crust and had double dough. This is a Rosati's special, with a hand‑rolled edge and it's slightly thicker than the traditional crispy thin crust. You can also get Chicago-style deep dish and pan-style crust if you're looking for a really filling meal.

Rosati's lets you get more creative with toppings, too. If you'd like to build your own, there are traditional toppings  like sausage, pepperoni, mushrooms and onions, but there's also a plethora of not-so-traditional choices like banana peppers, sauteed spinach, hot giardiniera and artichokes.

But if you don't want to build your own, there are specialty pizzas like The Rosati's Monster. This gargantuan pie is smothered in sausage, pepperoni, bacon, ground beef, Canadian bacon, mushrooms, onions, green peppers, tomatoes, green olives and black olives on a crispy thin crust with a hand‑rolled edge.

But pizza isn't the only item on the menu. Rosati's features a half- or full-order of baby back ribs ($17.95 for the full order), four- or eight-piece fried chicken dinners ($12.95 for the eight-piece), or a full pound of jumbo fried shrimp ($17.50). Salads, appetizers, wings and chicken strips, pastas and desserts complete this wide array of options.

If you're interested in a sandwhich, check out Rosati's Cheese Steak with mounds of sliced Italian beef, sauteed onions, mushrooms and mozzarella cheese ($6.75). Or if you're a pasta lover, try the Tuscan chicken ($7.95). This dish is loaded with chicken breast sautéed in olive oil with artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms in a garlic cream sauce over penne pasta.

While other Fox Point restuarnts have their niche, Roasti's finds itself snuggled into nearly every niche, bringing more than just pizza to the River Point Shopping Center.
