Beat the Winter Blues With a Good Book from North Shore Library

The Friends of North Shore Library will host a sale in April to benefit the organization, but books are also on sale before then. Stop by any time to check out the collection.

As the cold weather continues to drag out, many people may be looking for a distraction from the winter blues — and the North Shore Library has many opportunities for fixing that.

"People come into the library for all sorts of reasons," Adult Services Librarian Judy Kowalski said. From needing tax papers to checking out books, videos and children activities.

Kowalski said the Friends of North Shore Library books for sale have also been pretty popular. The selection changes usually on a weekly basis.

"They found that (gardening books) went out really good in January," she said. "I think its kind of really inspirational in January to be looking for (gardening ideas)."

On sale this week include how-to craft books, a children's selection as well as a wall of hardcovers, paperbacks, CDs and DVDs.
