Hundreds Gather to Mourn Loss of Prominent Attorney Nathan Fishbach

Hundreds of cars lined Port Washington Drive from Bradley Road to Maple Dale Middle School as mourners attended a funeral service for former interim U.S. attorney Nathan A. Fishbach at Congregation Sinai Tuesday. Fox Point police were outisde the congregation, directing traffic for the hundreds who attended the service.

A Journal Sentinel article says Fishbach was only 58 years old when he succumbed to cancer.

The article goes on to say:

Fishbach served in the U.S. attorney's office for 13 years where he held a variety of posts, including deputy U.S. attorney and civil division chief. His work there focused on complex financial cases and he was named an honorary special agent of the Internal Revenue Service's Criminal Investigation Division.

He joined Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek in 1993 and worked on civil and white collar litigation.

He was the founding president of the Eastern District of Wisconsin Bar Association. In April of this year, he received the group's Judge Myron L. Gordon Lifetime Achievement Award.

In recognition of the award, a Nathan Fishbach Student Development Fund was created at Marquette Law School by Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek.

Fishbach received his law degree in 1978 from Villanova University.

He is survived by his wife, Susan, and three sons, Jeffrey, Brian and Michael.
