LX Club Update: Declining Activity Attendance

A monthly message from club President Paul Kintz.

Editor's Note: This piece was written by President Paul Kintz and published in the November newsletter.

Our membership continues to increase, but we have experienced a kind of drought when it comes to attendance at various activities. All our activities have experienced decreased participation except for duplicate bridge. While card playing activities are important, I do not want the LX Club to be known as just a group of card players. My offsetting reaction has been to try and come up with more activities I think would be of interest to seniors. For example, we will feature an event that focuses on downsizing in January 2012. If anyone has any ideas on how we can increase attendance, please let us know your thoughts.

As many of you know by now, Myra cannot continue as our Activities Coordinator. She has done a wonderful job and we are grateful to her. Recently we asked Beverly Burger to coordinate our activities in the future and she has accepted. Beverly has her own business of flower arranging called "Late Bloomers." Additionally, she has taught art classes and has a background in making arrangements for entertainers and guest speakers. I know Beverly will be a wonderful addition to the LX Club.
