New Poles Coming to Fox Point and Bayside

Fox Point and Bayside residents may have some visitors in their front yards over the next few weeks. WE Energies is replacing old, worn out poles, wires, transformers and other utility equipment.

"Some of the poles and wires have been up since the 1930s," said Alex Henderson, Bayside director of community and utility services.

Crews were out on Monday getting the new poles in place. Most work will be completed south of Bradley Road, between North Santa Monica and North Mohawk Road.

Many of the new poles are taller, so in some cases, Asplundh Tree Expert Company will trim trees to make room. In a letter sent to residents, WE Energies said that they will contact any residents whose property requires tree trimming before any work is done.

Henderson said residents may experience temporary service interruptions, but they are not expected to extend beyond two or three hours.
