Watch Bridge Lane Footbridge Collapse

After standing for about 100 years, the Bridge Lane Ravine Footbridge in Fox Point came down in a matter of seconds on Thursday morning.

Closed as a safety hazard more than 2 1/2 years ago, the village has debated what to do with the bridge since then, but finally took it down.

Crews sliced through the supports, wound cables around them and then pulled with a backhoe. The project was engineered to have the bridge fall directly toward Barnett Lane, which it did.
