Week Ahead: Stargazing, Mom to Mom and More

Things you need to know to be prepared this week in Fox Point and Bayside.

Who said nothing ever happens in Fox Point or Bayside — Patch certainly doesn't think so! Check out all the places to be, things to do and people to see as we look at the week ahead.

Starry Nights of Winter

The , 1111 E. Brown Deer Rd. is hosting a stargazing party on Monday at 6:30pm. Admission is $5 per person.

The program helps people see constellations such at Orion the Hunter, the Big Dipper and Taurus the Bull. They are all scouted out from the trails and the top of its 60-foot tower.

Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and bring a flashlight and binoculars, if you have them.

In case of cloudy skies, an all-indoor program on the solar system will be presented.

Early Release

Wednesday, students will have early release at , 6701 N. Jean Nicolet Rd. School closes at 1:19pm

Mom to Mom

Mothers are welcomed to gather and share the joys and frustrations of motherhood on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. at , 7510 N Santa Monica Blvd. The group meeting is free and open to the public.

Mom to Mom is a biblically based parenting program designed around the Titus 2:4 concept of older women teaching and encouraging younger women in their relationship with their husbands and children.

Sign-up is not needed and child care is available.

Animal Movie Night at SANC

The whole family can enjoy a showing of Kung Fu Panda 2 at the Schlitz Audubon Nature Center, 1111 E. Brown Deer Rd., on Friday at 6 p.m. Admission is $5 per person.

Enjoy smores by the fire starting at 6 p.m. At 6:30 p.m. Jim will bring out his cuddly friends like snake, frogs, and turtles to get touchy feely with.

At 7 p.m. the lights will go out for a movie on the auditorium’s big screen. Bring a blanket and whatever else you need to get comfy for a good time at the Audubon Center.
