We're Not 'Older,' Just More Experienced

Census shows Fox Point and Bayside populations, already old, continued to get older in the last decade.

Call it "old," "aged" or "seasoned," the Fox Point-Bayside population became even more so in the last 10 years, according to data released Thursday by the U.S. Census Bureau.

The median age in Fox Point is 45.6 years, up from 43.5 in 2000. Almost 23 percent of the population is 62 or older. It was the same story in Bayside, where the average age climed to 48.0 from 46.5, and more than 25 percent of the population is 62 or older.

The median age of Wisconsin is now 38.5 years.
