Philomusica Quartet with guest artist Winston Choi, piano

Celebrating its Fifth Anniversary, the Conservatory's resident string ensemble Philomusica Quartet performs for its 2012-13 season works by the masters Beethoven, Mozart, Haydn, Schubert, and Bartok, as well as the moderns Glass and Part. The Philomusica opens the series with pianist Winston Choi from Roosevelt University in Bartok's romantic and rarely performed Piano Quintet, and welcomes Milwaukee Symphony's Principal Cellist Susan Babini in Schubert's monumental Cello Quintet.

Bartók's spicy romantic kaleidoscope contrasts Mozart's and Beethoven's classical lines.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: String Quartet No. 6 in B-flat major, K. 159

Ludwig van Beethoven: String Quartet No. 4 in c minor, Op. 18 No. 4

Béla Bartók: Piano Quintet in C major - Winston Choi, guest pianist
