Tuesday Movie Fest: Indian Summer Festival

The last of our Movie Fest series, "Smoke Signals", was also a winner at the Sundance Film Festival and was the first film to be writtten, directed and co-produced by Native Americans.  It is based on a couple of short stories from the book Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven by Sherman Alexie (Adult Fiction Alexie).  Victor and Thomas may be from the same Idaho town, but have very different memories of Victor's late father.  Victor remembers an abusive, alcoholic father while Thomas tells glowing stories of the man's greatness.  The journey of these two together on a car trip to Phoenix to pick up the father's ashes and take care of his possessions is a trip full of surprises.  This free film will be shown in the Community Room of the North Shore Library.
