Feliz Cinco de Mayo: Vieau School Students Put on a Show at Maple Dale

Not only students, but teachers even got up to shake their groove thing.

Students from Vieau School, a bilingual school on the south side of Milwaukee, performed Hispanic dances at Maple Dale Middle School Thursday in celebration of Cinco de Mayo.

Everyone danced to music with heritage from Cuba, Puerto Rico, Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Students in first through eighth grades performed and then taught teachers and students at the end of the performance how to complete some of the dance moves.

"It's just catching, and you saw it today when the children exploded. That's the enthusiasm that you pass onto your children," said Melissa Lloyd, Maple Dale-Indian Hill PTO member after the performance.
