Seniors Welcomed to a Sweet Meal At LX Club

Conversation and an afternoon of entertainment enjoyed at annual event.

A lovely luncheon is being hosted for the Valentine's Day holiday at the , 217 W. Dunwood Road in Fox Point. The club focuses on social interaction for community members 60 years of age and older and have put on the annual lunch event for more than 16 years.

LX Club President Beverly Burger said there's a variety of things people enjoy about the gathering.

“They always enjoy the food because it's always good food, but then the entertainment is fun, too," she said.

Ferrante's Signature Catering will be serving lasagna, caesar salad, signature potatoes and chocolate cake for dessert. Diners will enjoy the music of Tom Stanfield from 1 to 2 p.m. as he plays a variety of songs on the piano and trumpet.

Burger said camaraderie can be found at every table, which will include flowers from . “We set up tables with eight people to a table and they get to visit with their friends,” She said.

You don't have to have a sweetheart to enjoy the food and fun at the luncheon at noon on Feb. 10. “A lot of ladies and men come single. They just have some fun and good food, they come to be entertained for the day,” Burger said.

The cost for the luncheon is $12 per person. Reservations are required for non-members of the club by Feb. 6. A club membership is $15 annually. The LX Club has more than 250 members and meets at the Dunwood Center in Fox Point. Call 414-351-6060 for details.
