Following months of anticipation from anxious residents after the new grocer has finally announced it will open at 9 a.m. on April 25.
“We are excited to open our store in Fox Point and to expand our reach in Wisconsin,” said Craig Carlock, the company’s president and chief executive officer, in a press release.
The new location is at 8705 N. Port Washington Rd. in and there's a bit bigger plan for the grand opening than just swinging open the front doors. The grand opening will be feature chef demonstrations, food sampling and drawings for Fresh Market gift cards. The first 1,000 customers will even get a reusable shopping bag and a sample-sized bag of the grocer's gourmet coffee.
This is the second Fresh Market store in Wisconsin — the first is in Brookfield — and is bringing 90 new jobs to Fox Point, most of which are being filled locally, the release said.
The new store is more than 21,000 square feet, taking up the upper-half of the old
The grocer will feature items such as 30 baked breads, 14 varities of different daily pies, full-service meat counter, fresh seafood delivered multiple times per week and more than 200 imported and domestic cheeses.
"The smell of freshly brewed coffee and bread right out of the oven, the sound of classical music, soft lighting with antique décor in an intimate setting, and the ability to select and taste fresh, high-quality products all work together to create surroundings where customers are encouraged to experience the food,” Carlock said in the release.
