Sneak Peek: New Sendik's Opening in June

Check out the recently-approved designs for the new Sendik's, which is slated to open in June.

Are you itching for Sendik's to open again?

After an ownership change, Sendik's Bayside plans to reopen with a new exterior design in June.

Bayside's Architectural Review Committee recently approved the new exterior remodel plans, which features roof railings, new red brick siding, and synthetic shingles. The roof railings are also featured at the Sendik's in Whitefish Bay, which is also owned by the Balistrieri family.

Sendik's also purchased the building at 326 W. Brown Deer Road, which houses Community Bark Dog Wash and Coffee Bar, Kurth Chiropractic and Great Lakes Foot and Ankle Center. Sendik's also purchased the home at the corner of Mohawk and Brown Deer roads, which is zoned commercial.

Are they going to be expanding down to Mohawk and eliminating the chiropractor and dog wash?
Jeff Rumage February 28, 2013 at 08:59 PM
No, Sendik's will not be expanding. The new owners of Sendik's also purchased the building at 326 Brown Deer Road, which features Community Bark. That building will be expanded eastward.

Demolishing the the home at the corner of Mohawk and Brown Deer for parking?
Jeff Rumage March 04, 2013 at 07:49 PM
Yes, the house has been demolished, but not to create a parking lot. The commercial building would be expanded eastward on that lot, sitting back farther from the road than the house did. The architectural plans and the use of the addition still need approval from the Architectural Review Committee, Plan Commission, and Village Board.
