Summer Movie Line Up Kicks Off With 'The Avengers'

Marcus Theatres, which features movies nearby at North Shore Cinemas in Mequon, posted a rundown of the films of summer, which began this weekend, about six weeks before it actually is summer.

As "The Avengers" got the summer movie line-up off to an early start Friday, Johnny Depp's latest movie (and director Tim Burton's latest, too) "Dark Shadows" follows in this weekend, along with the alien attack adventure, "Battleship." Also considered anticipated returns are Batman in "The Dark Knight Rises," Will Smith in "Men in Black III."   

New family films include Pixar’s newest, "Brave," "Ice Age: Continental Drift," "Madagascar 3-Europe’s Most Wanted," and "Diary of a Whimpy Kid: Dog Days."

Whitney Houston will be seen in her last performance as well in the movie "Sparkle."
