Extended Spring Break Hours in the Kohl's Art Generation Studio at Milwaukee Art Museum

The Kohl's Art Generation Studio at Milwaukee Art Museum extends hours April 2 through April 7.

Spring break is fast approaching, leaving many parents to wonder how they’ll keep their kids busy during the downtime. This year, Milwaukee Art Museum has a fun and educational solution—extended hours in the Kohl’s Art Generation Studio!

In addition to its regular Saturday and Sunday hours, the Studio will be open on Tuesday, April 2 through Sunday, April 7 from 10.a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Kohl’s Art Generation Studio is a hands-on art studio that features a variety of activities and art projects. Just in time for spring, the April Studio theme is “Planting Ideas.” Kids are invited to take inspiration from art in the Museum’s Collection to make a painting or a collage that explores nature.

While at the Milwaukee Art Museum, kids and families can check out the rest of the Kohl’s Education Center. In addition to the Studio, the Center also houses the Kohl’s Art Generation Lab and Gallery. In The Lab, kids and families can discover what happens behind the scenes at an art museum. Currently themed “Animation: Art Goes to the Movies,” the Gallery explores how animators of today’s most popular movies draw inspiration from historical works of art. Both the Lab and the Gallery are open during regular Museum hours. The Kohl’s Art Generation program is made possible by a $4.3 million donation from Kohl’s Cares to the Milwaukee Art Museum.
