Prayers are Kobi's Peace!

The effect praying has on Kobi!

Kobi started Sunday School last year when he was 3 years old. To him, he was going to school and he was there to learn. We would ask him what he learned and his response was usually, "Uh, I don't remember." They teach the kids a new word each week and that word he would remember which was good because it was then used to tell them about someway it was used in the Bible. They learned such words like generosity.

This September, Kobi is back in Sunday School and Pre-School. Again we can ask Kobi what he did in school and his response again is "Uh, I don't remember." Now we have him show us his pictures that he brings home and that usually jogs his memory.

The one thing though that he remembers from both Sunday School and Pre-School is how to pray. He gets very excited when it is time to eat and time to go to bed. You see, for meal time he has a prayer that they teach him at Pre-School and he says it for his meals at home as well. Because of this prayer, Kobi also chooses to say a prayer to God that he has made up before we eat.

At bedtime Kobi says The Lord's prayer because he has learned that at Sunday School. Because of this, he has a special prayer that he says at bedtime for Maile, who he loved and lost 9 months ago, asking God to watch over her.

You may think, why is this important? Well, none of us will ever know what it feels like to lose somebody that we loved so much at such a young age unless it actually happened to us. Kobi's prayers to God keep him safe and because he gets to say the prayer at meal time, he feels so grown up.

I am so grateful to all that Sunday School and Pre-School has taught him. Like our daughter, we want him to grow up being a very, caring individual. He is definitely on his way!
