Assassination Email Hoax Targets Bayside Residents

Police Chief Bruce Resnick warns residents to be cognizant of fraudulent emails.

An email claiming plans to assasinate a Bayside resident was turned over by that resident to Bayside police last week.

Bayside Police Chief Bruce Resnick said due to the poor English, it's very clearly a hoax.

The email says, in part:

"Am very sorry for you my friend, is a pity that this is how your life is going to end as soon as you don't comply. As you can see there is no need of introducing myself to you because l donβ€˜t have any business with you, my duty as l am mailing you now is just to KILL/ASSASINATE (SIC) you and l have to doit (SIC) as I have already been paid for that."

"Ignore it," Resnick said. "It should be obvious by the poor English and the ploy that it's a hoax. Residents can also Google the name or go to snopes.com for further information."
