More Than 100 Bayside Residents Without Power Wednesday Night

WE Energies says a homeowner or landscaper hit an underground cable around 5:30 p.m. All 139 residents had power restored by 9 p.m.

After 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, 139 Bayside residents were without power after a homeowner or landscaper hit an underground cable while digging post holes.

WE Energies spokesman Brian Manthey says no one was injured, but the incident began on East Brown Deer Road near Lake Drive. Power was restored to all customers by 9 p.m.

WE Energies recommends calling the Wisconsin Diggers Hotline, 800-242-8511 or 811, before digging near any possible sources of power.
