New Bayside Village Assistant Already in the Loop

Ryan Luke just started work as a management assistant for the Village of Bayside but already feels settled into his new job. 

“It’s normal, not abnormally busy,” Luke said Thursday morning inside the cozy offices of Village Hall.

Things seemed pretty under control for a guy who works with the village manager, building inspector, and the director of finance and administration throughout the day. On top of that, he helps create all three newsletters, runs the architectural review committee. Even as he speaks, he’s updating the village calendar at his desk. 

Yet, Luke embraces everything he and the other village assistant get assigned throughout the day.

“We’re both getting a lot of experience in different areas,” he says.

He also attributes his enthusiasm for the job to the easygoing people in the office. Every now and then, employees chime in to share a joke or two with Luke.

“Everyone’s great so far for my transition to the new job and area,” he says.
