Political Signs Turn Up in Stormonth Baseball Field Vandalism

Fox Point police found nearly 50 signs, a backwards bleacher set and a misplaced table and chair.

A Fox Point officer found the following list of items scattered throughout the baseball field at Stormonth Elementary at 5:53 a.m. Wednesday morning.

  • 24 Alberta Darling Signs
  • 25 Sandy Pasch signs
  • Five Planned Parenthood signs
  • Two Bayside election signs
  • Two benches
  • One table
  • One chair
  • A pitching net

But that wasn't all. Officers also found that an entire set of bleachers was turned away from the field so it now faces the parking lot.

"That's why I'm thinking it's young adults, because that takes a lot of energy," said Capt. Gerald Lamm of the Fox Point Police Department.

The signs have been returned to each political party, and one resident who called police to say his sign was missing also got his sign back.

"It’s time to get back to school," Lamm joked.

He said there have been no other incidents of vandalized signs recently reported to the police department; however, Andrew Davis, campaign manager for the Friends of Alberta Darling group, says another politician has experienced vandalism lately at his own home.

"Rep. Jim Ott’s sign was vandalized and stolen from his own front yard last weekend," Davis said. Ott represents the villages of Bayside, Mequon, Brown Deer Thiensville and the City of Milwaukee.
