POLL: Time to Tear Down That Holiday Cheer?

Bayside has specific days for Christmas tree curbside collection, Fox Point will pick trees up on any day.

It's the first week of 2012, and reasons to hold onto that Christmas tree are dwindling.

Bayside residents looking to haul out that old tree or holiday wreath can leave them curbside on four separate days in January. Trees and wreaths will be collected curbside Thursday and Friday of this week, as well as Jan. 12 and 13. Both the wreaths and trees will be chipped into yard waste, so residents need to be sure they've removed all ornaments, lights, tree stands, tree bags, garland, hooks or other materials from the trees and wreaths.

In Fox Point, residents can dispose of their trees and wreaths any day as the village picks them up with the regular garbage. Scott Brandmeier, director of public works, said they do not use them for yard waste because too often they're still covered in tinsel and other things.
