Yom Kippur Day Services

9:00am Morning Services
During the services we’ll get to all the questions still unanswered from yesterday’s session.

10:00am High Holiday Youth Services
Learn the story of the very first Yom Kippur. Then, compose and act in our youth performance, complete with special props! Older children will share newly acquired knowledge during a quick mini-sermon with the adults. Teen discussion with Rabbi Mendy: “Does Judaism believe in martydom?” Lunch: sandwiches, chips, fruit, and drinks

12:15pm Yizkor
Prayer remembering our Loved Ones who have passed on.

12:40pm Musaf
Ever wonder what Yom Kippur services were like thousands of years ago? This section of the prayers includes a review of Yom Kippur services in the Beit Hamikdash (the Central Temple in Jerusalem of long ago).

2:40pm A Break in the Action
Catch your breath for a snooze (but not your lunch) before we re-group for the final event.

4:40pm Mincha
In this service, we read along the fascinating story of Jonah and the Whale.

5:45pm Yom Kippur Neilah Service
Considered the climactic moments of the High Holidays, Neilah’s moving prayers melt even the hardest of hearts.

7:47pm Blast Off, Fast Ends, Havdalah and Break Fast
We conclude the Yom Kippur service with a triumphant dance and a resounding shofar blast, assured of G-d’s blessings for the coming year.You’ve made it! Stay right at Shul and break your fast on a delicious bagel and lox buffet with all the trimmings!
