NSPN Event: Assistive Technology in Education

The North Shore Parent Network in collaboration
with school districts of the North Shore invite you to an evening of information and networking.

Who: Parents, educators and professionals with interest in the special educational needs of students in the early childhood, elementary, middle and high schools of the North Shore and beyond.

What: Please join the discussion as we explore assistive technology for learning within and outside of school.  The discussion will kick off with a wide range of perspective including that of a school-based occupational therapist, the CESA #1 Assistive Technology consultant, an early childhood educator who has researched the impact of tablet technology, as well as a representative from our local Apple store. We will discuss a variety of learner technologies from basic to more complex, consider how to ensure the approach is practical, user friendly and a good match to function and goal across environments, as well as how tablet technologies like the iPad have enhanced accessibility.
