Minerals Make Good Neighbors

People are the core of U.S. minerals mining. We respect and care for the health and safety of our employees, the well-being of the communities in which we operate and the environment in which we live.

In 2012, minerals mining had the second-safest year on record. Our CORESafety® initiative sets the standard for commitment to our employees’ health and safety. We are seeking to eliminate fatalities and reduce the rate of worksite injuries by half in five years.

The U.S. minerals mining sector also strives to support local communities. Not only through well-paying jobs, but also through charitable donationsjob training for students and even soliciting feedback on how to better serve the cities in which we work.

Additionally, U.S. minerals mining is dedicated to minimizing its environmental impact. The Environmental Management System and “clean up as you go” reclamations empower minerals mining companies to navigate regulatory processes and continually improve environmental performance.
