$1,000 from Valentine's Day Cookie Sale Donated to Orphanage

It's a Trifecta of Goodness: A mom teaches her daughter about helping others, an orphanage receives a donation and 500 people in Fox Point, Bayside and River Hills get a Valentine treat.

On a recent trip to India, my friend Monica was introduced to an orphanage called Ashadayaka.  After she returned home she still thought of the kids there and wanted to do something to help them.  With the help of some friends and her seven year old daughter, they baked over 1,000 cookies with a goal of selling them in pretty Valentine packages at $2 for two cookies.

They sold cookies out on street corners, at offices, through their friends and as of Monday night, the day before Valentines Day, they sold their last Valentine package of cookies, with more than $1,000 ready to be donated to the Ashadayaka Orphanage.

Everyone comes out a winner with this one.  My friend teaches her daughter about helping others, the orphanage will receive a much needed donation and the cookies...the cookies were delicious.
