Nicolet Girls Softball Team 2-0 to Open Season

Nicolet girls softball undefeated for first two games, girls soccer is 1-1 and and annual golf outing is now on the books.

The Girls Softball team went 2-0 to open their season. On Tuesday the team won 11-0 versus Shorewood as Freshman Amanda Mehl threw a 1 hitter striking out 5. Jasmine Stacy in her first softball game for the Knights, hit a home run in just her 2nd at bat. Against Milwaukee King on Thursday, the Knights won 16-6 behind a 3 for 4 day from Cydney Anderson who was a home run short of a cycle. Cylie McAdams picked up the win for the Knights scattering 6 hits through 6 innings. Bright spots so far this year have been the Clark cousins. Kelsey is 7 for 7 in plate appearances and yet to record an out at the plate while Jaclyn is 6 for 8 and has thrown out 3 of 5 would be base stealers. The Junior Varsity is also 2-0 defeating both Shorewood and Milwaukee King as well. The team plays its first conference game Tuesday versus perineal powerhouse Homestead at Thiensville park at 4:15pm. The JV team plays Tuesday at 4:30pm. The JV2 team plays Monday night at Port Washington at 4:30pm and Wednesday night at Germantown.

The Nicolet Girls Soccer team is off to a 1-1 start after a home loss to New Berlin Eisnhower 5-4 last Tuesday and a home win against West Bend East 2-0 last Friday. Sara Travia began the Nicolet scoring with a long scoring shot from 35 yards out. Ginny Groh, Laila Eslami and Roni Martinez-brockus also scored with assists from Travia and Daniell Sobelman. The JV2 team won 6-1 against Eisenhower behind a hattrick from Haley Sentz. Lizzie Benson scored two goals and Carley Bruckner and Sentz shared the other goal. The JV1 tied 2-2 in a fabulously played game with Maddy Kealy and Sammi Castle scoring the lone Nicolet goals. This week, the varsity plays at Homestead on Tuesday at 7pm and at Sussex Hamilton on Thursday at 5pm. The JV1 plays at Homestead on Tuesday at 5pm and Sussex Hamilton on Thursday at 5pm. The JV2 team DOES NOT play as originally scheduled tonight at Port Washington because Port is not fielding a JV2 team due to low numbers. The JV2 will play next on Wednesday at Germantown at 4:30pm.
