The Coming Zombie Apocalypse

I have wondered of late why the entertainment media is so enamored with  Zombie and Vampire movies ,to be sure I kind of like them my self , but really it has become a manic craze like when Hollywood felt that so many movies would be better with Elvis in them (and he at least could sing) Now the film industry has been  captivated by Dead humans bought back to  a kind of frenzied rabid animated life ravaging any of the living that they can sink their rotted teeth into, as well as smarmy 300 year old Vampires who happen to look like a hunky 18 year olds and find for young High school girls fascinating for some reason or they are the kind of mindless vampires that just run Amok like Vikings  sucking and rending humans like  fast food . So  maybe that is the point ,I mean maybe its mankind's collective unconscious going into overdrive , after all is it not all about consuming everything in sight to keep on ticking, Zombies eating the living ,Vampires sucking up mankinds  life force, but when they run out of livestock (Us) they fare about as well as anything that runs out of it's resources , they cease to exist .

     So I get it we are the Zombies the Vampires we are the ones using up our Planet with as much mindless glee as these ravaging creatures . The "Living Planet" report calculates that the human race uses  30% more resources than the Earth can replenish each year, which is leading to deforestation, degraded soils,polluted air and water and dramatic declines in the numbers of fish and other species . As a result we are running up an ecological debt of 4trillion to 4.5 trillion every year-double the estimated losses made by the Worlds financial institutions as a result of the credit crisis-say the reports authors.

     We believe in a Myth that Global development and poverty alleviation happen because of unlimited economic expansion fuelled by open markets and more liberalized trade. This is a Myth that assumes that Human "well being" comes about most fully by perpetual human growth, and so at least in the last few generations we are Consuming this Planet at a rate that Scientist say by 2030 we will need two Planets to sustain our lives, We need to wake up we live on a huge Planet to be sure but it is one that is fundamentally limited, and though Two Planets would be dam handy the truth is we have only One!

    A Zombie infestation is merely a Virus that you can see coming at you , is that how we want to go down ? as a Parasitic Virus that kills the one host it can live on? Any way I hope this is Food for thought so to speak.
