Do You Know How to Properly Install a Car Seat?

North Shore Fire/Rescue partners with North Shore Health to gain grant funding to support Child Car Safety Seat Check Program.

and the North Shore Health Department are excited to announce a partnership that will provide support for both agencies’ child safety seat check programs. Funding of approximately $4,000 for training additional technicians is being provided by the North Shore Health Department through a Safety and Injury Prevention Grant Award under the Wisconsin Healthiest Families Initiative.

“We are excited to partner with the North Shore Health Department in an effort to help support our current program and allow the North Shore Health Department to provide additional services,” said North Shore Fire/Rescue Chief Robert Whitaker. “Tight budgets have challenged us to find funding to train new safety seat technicians. This grant provides additional depth in both our programs.”

Residents of the seven North Shore communities served by North Shore Fire/Rescue and the Health Department are eligible to have a trained technician assist in installing a child safety seat. Technicians also educate the resident on how to ensure the seat continues to be installed properly. For appointments, go to www.nsfire.org.
