Obituary: Christine Mary Hanson

January 1, 1918 - February 3, 2012.

Christine Mary Hanson (nee Di Fiore) of Bayside passed away at age 94.

Beloved wife of William for 61 years. Cherished mother of Rita (Daryl) Melzer, Richard (Trisha), and Sheila (Howard) Johnston. Proud Grandma “Gramz” of Chad (Kristen) Hanson, Michael Melzer, Jason Hanson, Anne (Kevin Collis) Melzer, and Elizabeth Johnston. Beloved sister of Julia Grimes and sister-in-law of Regina DiFiore, Rose DiFiore and June (James) Stummeier. Also loved by many other relatives and friends.

Christine served her country as a member of the USAF, and traveled all over Europe during her five year overseas assignment to Wiesbaden, Germany where she met and married Bill. Throughout her 30 years as an Air Force wife and mother and beyond, she made many different houses into loving homes across the US and in the Philippine Islands.

"We will miss your smile, your laughter, and your wonderful sense of humor – and Mama Hanson’s spaghetti and meatballs and your chocolate chip and chocolate butter sweet cookies," the family wrote.

Visitation was held at the Feerick Funeral Home on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at , on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Interment followed at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
